As you start adding episodes and accumulating listeners to your show, you will notice that your listeners look at you as an authority on your chosen subject. Just think of the people that you have listened to on the radio or watched on TV. There is something about a microphone that changes the way a message is received. The people you watch on TV or listen to on the radio become the “experts” . For the most part, we trust that people that are reporting the news know more about it than we do. We listen to their reports. We want to acquire the knowledge about the story that they have already acquired. Think of it this way: You have taken the time to research your chosen topic. You have taken the time to organize your presentation of that topic. You have gone out on a limb to present your chosen topic to an audience. Your listeners have chosen to listen to your presentation. They respect what you have to say about your topic. It may be subtle at first but your listeners will start treating you differently. They will start asking your opinions. They will value your answers more. They will seek you out. As you build your podcast and add more episodes, you will also be building more trust with your growing audience. Not only will you be establishing your podcast, you will be establishing yourself as an authority in your industry.
